I had a nightmare last night that our nation was under attack. I was outside and it seemed that fireworks were going off. It was the middle of the day, so fireworks seemed strange to me and those around me. I got a really sick feeling and knew I had to get to the girls. As most nightmares go, I was trying to get to them and could not find them. I passed a bus that had a big hole in the side because it had been hit. I realized then that our nation was under attack. I woke up at that point and was relieved to find that it was only a dream. What a strange coincidence that I had that dream on the eve of Veterans Day. As I attended a wonderful program this morning honoring veterans, I reflected on the sacrifices so many have made to protect our nation and help make it the amazing country it is today. To say I am grateful for those who serve and have served in our military seems so inadequate. I sincerely want to thank all veterans from the bottom of my heart.
I am an American Patriot and come from a long line of Patriots. My father served in the army and both of my grandfathers also served in the army, as well as many other relatives. As a family, we are very proud of our ancestry. I am proud of our children and their interest in American history and their love for visiting places of historical significance. The Salisbury family will be praying for our nation and remembering our veterans today and every day.
Veterans- thank you for all you do and have done to protect our freedom and keep us safe.
